There is something about those last few weeks before and after a baby arrives. Before, the anticipation, the cusp of change and unknown. And then after, when everything looks the same on the surface but feels so utterly different and shifted in ways that you can't exactly describe.
There is magic laced throughout these days - the sleep deprivation is a killer, but balanced out by the crazy number of hours you can just look at the tiny being you made and hold in your hands and marvel at.
Katy and David were amazing. Relaxed and open and so full of love that it wrapped around the three of them like a blanket. Newborn photos at home really are my favourite - I think these explain why. It's just such a privilege to witness these moments of new life and new family in the routine of your days - thank you for inviting me in.
